Tatted!

No, I did not get a tattoo... but my girl did! Of course, it was designed by me :)
I am sure you remember the sketch, but if not, here it is again:

And here is the fresh finished project! Lookin good! Makes me proud. Done in Sacramento by James Danger Harvey at Painful Pleasures Tattoo. Props.

Step by Step

So a few weeks ago, my coworker asked me to design a tattoo for him. He was very specific with his design and this is the quick sketch I came up with:

After showing it to him he decided he was going to get it done the very next day because he liked it so much. Being the perfectionist that I am, I quickly sketched up a "better version" but I didn't really get to finish it the way I wanted.

Anyways, after one session:

And this is the final version:

Although this is not something I would ever get... it turned out amazing. I captured exactly what he wanted and well, the tattoo artist finished it beautifully.

Logo

I guess I never showed y'all my logo. It is on my blog a few times but after designing a myriad of tattoos one of my friends decided I needed a logo. Sooo after doodling for a while, I decided that this will be the new way that I sign all of my work. I also hope to make a cool watermark out of it for my photos and drawings. Guess I better trademark it before someone else tries to swoop it up...

LA Christmas Light Installers Logo

I designed this logo for a buddy of mine that started the company LA Christmas Light Installers. If anyone needs help hanging their Christmas lights in the LA area, he will do a great job.

Designed a tat for my girl. Side boob tat of plumeria, if you must know! HA, I cannot wait until she gets it. It will be gorgeous.

Miami Ink

I designed this tattoo for one of my girl friends. She decided she wanted to get it while she was on vacation in Miami. She stopped into Miami Ink for a pricing estimate. While there the tattooers asked her where she got the design because they really liked it. To be honest, that is one of the biggest compliments I could ever get. I am completely flattered.

Dock Street Garage

To thank the volunteers that helped out my dad on the Fourth of July, he had a party at a friend's house. The owner is a car collector and fanatic, who created his own showroom/garage on his property. It was absolutely amazing. Here are some photos of his car collection. The sad thing is, these photos don't even do this showroom justice. Not only was it decorated with authentic '50s antiques but it also had custom designed neon lights to fit around each of his cars. He also included window boxes with history about each car and the era. Simply amazing!
Coolest Garage EVER... it's like a showroom.

Business

Only once in my life have I been paid for my works and it wasn't to purchase my art, but an award in an art contest. Although I have already posted an image of this piece, here it is again:

Autumn Melodies
I was also once offered money for one of my pieces but it was one of my favorite pieces, of my cat, Yoshi, so I just couldn't let go of it. Also, I was young and did not know how to price my work. Below is the piece; I believe describes him best. It really depicts how cross-eyed and goofy he looks:

Yoshi
And although I have created other logos before...

Deuce Deuce
Soon to be apparel for women with those HUGE boobies! Ha. Hopefully, I will have a link to put up soon.
... this newest logo, is one that I will actually be paid for. I used to feel uncomfortable charging but since he offered, maybe a new leaf is turning. For all you cheapskates out there, you better hope you got your logo, tattoo, or piece of art off me already because I might just start charging!

Work

If you leave me with anything that I can make art from, I will. Last night at San Carlos Restaurant, I found it necessary to be a little creative with our seating chart as I seated customers at their tables. I love my job.

Mmmmm Cake

For my mom's birthday I made her favorite, Carrot Cake. I was inspired by one of my best friend's mom's amazing cake decorating skills:

My cake is below... not as good as the one above but I tried. Ha. It tasted pretty damn good though.

Cream Cheese frosting with shredded carrots and raisins around the base, and a carrot curl and raisins on top.
